Colonel Grady L. Burleson, Retired U.S. Army, passed away peacefully at his home on June 15, 2025. Born in Crestview, Florida, December 18, 1935, he proudly served in the US Army for thirty
years traveling the world before returning home. He never slowed down, on a mission to the end.
He is preceded in death by his parents Howard Grady Burleson and Mabel Locke Burleson, and
by his former wife Amanda, with whom they had two sons Grady Jr. and Rhett. Grady Jr. and
his wife Vivian are the parents of Kyle, Luke and Sofia, all of whom brought their grandfather
immense joy and pride.
He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Merium. Through their union he became part of
a large and loving family, gaining four daughters Angela, Barbara, Cheryl, and Deidre, seventeen
grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, whose visits
and company he cherished and enjoyed. He is also survived by siblings James Rhett Burleson and Florine Meyers.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Davis-Watkins Crestview Memorial, 492 E. Pine Ave, Crestview FL, 32539. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Committal services with full military honors will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
