Grady Reid Hill

Grady Reid Hill, 87, of Monroe, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. He was born in Union County, NC on January 28, 1938, son to the late Walter Thomas Hill and Annie Williams Hill. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Walter “Dean” Hill and sister Mary Alice Booth.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in the chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00AM until 10:45AM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe NC 28112.

In the mid 1980’s, Grady acquired Hill Sand & Gravel from his father, W.T. Hill, and became the second generation of owner of the company. An avid lover of music, Grady ensured that his children and grandchildren had the same love and appreciation for music that he did.

Grady is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Judy Funderburk Hill, two sons, Phil Hill (Jennifer), Brad Hill, two daughters, Kim Cox (Terry), Stephanie Collins, brother Danny Ray Hill (Heather), sister Elizabeth “Lib” Simpson, eight grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.
