Grant Joel Hildreth passed away peacefully July 31, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. His determination, strength, and faith never wavered during his battle with pancreatic cancer. As he fought this battle, he strengthened all those around him.
Grant was born to Raymond and Darlene Hildreth (Goodfellow) November 15, 1962. He had a strong will and stubborn personality, along with a playful sense of humor and willingness to entertain family and friends.
Growing up Grant loved sports and was a competitive athlete. He played many sports, but basketball was his real love. He worked hard on and off the court to improve himself as a player. He played JV and Varsity basketball for Beaverhead County High school. He also enjoyed music and participated in high school swing choir, wrote songs and played the guitar. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent countless hours in the mountains hunting, fishing and playing with family.
He graduated from Beaverhead County High School in 1981, then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in San Jose, California. He continued to serve others throughout his life.
He married the love of his life, Deborah Ann Jensen on June 14, 1985 in the Idaho Falls Temple. His adventurous, fun personality and sense of humor made for a wonderful married life. Together they enjoyed all things outdoors: hiking, fishing, four-wheeling, skiing, and the family cabin. Grant also worked hard to earn his Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic in 1993 from Western States Chiropractic in Portland, Oregon.
Grant always dreamed of being a father and was blessed with six children. He loved being a part of their lives in every way he could. He felt great joy watching them excel. He coached each one of his kids, wanting them to be taught the correct fundamentals in sports. His love and passion for basketball was passed on to all his kids, thus it has become the family sport. He shared his love of the outdoors with his family. He also felt a great responsibility to teach his children the gospel of Jesus Christ. He desired that each of his children have a testimony of Heavenly Father and their Savior, Jesus Christ. Although he loved being a father, he cherished being a grandpa. His grandkids were his pride and joy. He dedicated time to go to their activities and enjoyed watching their little personalities grow.
Grant is survived by his wife, Debbie and six kids; Conrad (Jamie), Shannon (Weston), Ashley (Jared), Cody (Hailey), Quinton (Madison), Savannah (Michael); grandchildren, Taelee, Raelynn, Avirelle, Lennyx, Tasman, Sage, Leland, Sara, Veda, Bohden, and Jackson; his parents, Raymond and Darlene; siblings, Clayton, Bryce (Hazel), and Amber (Doug); and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Fern Hildreth.
Grant will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We express our deepest gratitude to those of you who loved him in so many ways.
A viewing will be held Friday morning 9-11:00 am. Funeral services to follow at 11 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel, 93 state highway 91 south Dillon, MT.
