Grant Walter Saylor July 18, 1991 – December 30, 2025

With hearts full of love and sorrow, we share that Grant Walter Saylor passed peacefully into Heaven on December 30, 2025, where he was joyfully reunited with his beloved mother, Susan, whom he adored beyond words. Grant was the youngest son of Richard and Susan Saylor and was deeply loved by his family and all who knew him.

Grant grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and later Encinitas, California. He attended Sunset Mesa, Manzano Day School, and Sandia Preparatory School before moving to Encinitas, where he completed high school. From an early age, Grant showed a gentle spirit and a deep love for animals—especially his cherished dogs, Peanut, Gracie, and Max, who brought him constant comfort and joy.

After completing some college, Grant became actively involved in the family development and real estate investment business. With remarkable dedication, he pursued and mastered several skilled trades, including electrical work, framing, plumbing, and building. His talent, work ethic, and attention to detail continually impressed his father and brothers, and his accomplishments made his family immensely proud. While his passing leaves a significant void in the family business, the greater loss is the absence of his kind heart, generous spirit, and beautiful soul.

Grant had an infectious smile and a laugh that could light up any room. He was a calming, loving presence—someone who made people feel seen, valued, and understood. He possessed a rare empathy and had a special place in his heart for those who were struggling, always offering encouragement, patience, and kindness without judgment.

An inquisitive and thoughtful soul, Grant enjoyed podcasts and was deeply interested in the ideas of great thinkers such as Jordan Peterson, Thomas Sowell, Victor Davis Hanson, and Charles Krauthammer. He also expressed himself creatively through art, creating striking and imaginative geometric works using unique techniques and processes. His creativity was as distinctive as his spirit.

Grant found deep peace and joy in the mountains and snow and was an exceptional snowboarder. Whether helping a friend move, repairing a home or car, or simply being there when someone needed support, Grant gave of himself freely and cheerfully, never expecting anything in return.

Grant was kind, loving, and gentle—the sweetest of souls. He left an indelible mark on this world and on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. Though he left us far too soon at the age of 34, his love, compassion, and light will live on forever. We take comfort in believing that God welcomed him home and granted him his wings.

Following a celebration of Grant’s life, his earthly remains will be laid to rest at the Crystal Cathedral Memorial Garden in Garden Grove, California, beside his beloved mother, where they will remain together for eternity.

A celebration of Grant’s life will be held on March 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Daniels Family Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109 (505-821-0010). All who knew and loved Grant, and those who love his family, are warmly invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of the bright light and precious soul that was our beloved Grant.
