We lost our amazing son, brother, grandson, and friend, Grayson Michael Early on November 10, 2025. He was 19 years old.
Grayson was witty, kind, intelligent, and expressive. He may have been the most recognizable person in our neighborhood. Grayson often surprised people with how much he knew. He enjoyed puns and rhyming.
Grayson had a genetic disorder called Lesch-Nyhan. This condition limited his physical ability, but did not diminish his ability to learn, laugh, love, and enjoy life. We wish we could have had more time with him, but we are comforted by the positive impacts Grayson had on so many people's lives.
When Grayson was not attending school, he would often travel with family to interesting places. From the remote Dempster Highway to New York City, Grayson visited all 50 states, 7 Canadian provinces, 2 Canadian territories, and one tiny border town in Mexico. His family's love of the outdoors meant that most nights on the road were spent in a tent. He camped in many spectacular locations while visiting 52 U.S. national parks, many other N.P.S. sites, and countless state parks.
Grayson is survived by his parents, Allison and Brad Early of Boise, ID, his brother, Sage Early of Tucson, AZ, his sister, Sarah Jane Early, and his grandparents, Barry and Patricia Cunfer of Boise, ID. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Michael and Linda Early of Cross Plains, TN.
A celebration of life will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Grayson's honor to one of these organizations that held a lot of meaning for him: Love Never Sinks (loveneversinks.org), an organization that supports families and funds research for Lesch Nyhan Syndrome; The Peregrine Fund and World Center for Birds of Prey (peregrinefund.org).
