Grayson D. Puryear, Sr. of South Boston passed away at his residence on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. He was the son of the late Dean Monroe Puryear and Rebecca Clark Puryear. He is survived by his wife, Virginia "Gail" Bowen Puryear of the home.
Grayson worked at ABB, now Hitachi, for over 40 years. He loved farming, that was his passion.
He is survived by his wife, Gail; daughter, Rebecca Leigh Puryear Clark (Dennis); son, Grayson Puryear, Jr. (Dena); grandson, D.J. Clark (Allyson); granddaughter, Heaven Leigh Clark; and sister, Patsy Harris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Samuel "Sammy" Puryear.
Services will be private.
