Greg J. Beneventi

Greg Beneventi, 53, of Granger passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, October 30, 2009 at Assumption Catholic Church in Granger, with interment to follow at Beaver Catholic Cemetery. Visitation begins 3pm Thursday at Assumption Catholic Church where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm with a Rosary following at 7pm. Greg was born on May 27, 1956 to Don and Carol (Glass) Beneventi of Granger, IA. He graduated from Woodward-Granger High School in 1974. Following graduation, Greg was employed by Beneventi Chevrolet and worked nearly his entire career in the parts department. Greg was an avid lover of aviation and built and flew his own ultra-light plane. He also would spend much of his spare time building and flying radio controlled airplanes. Greg is survived by his father, Don; sister, Teri (Bob) Mayfield of Grimes; brothers, Mike of Granger, Jerry (Susan) of Lawrence, KS, and Dan of Granger; aunt, Jane Birins of Streator, IL, niece, Kirby Beneventi, nephews, Ross Marshall, Alec Marshall, Kyle Beneventi, Brian Beneventi and Ryan Mayfield. Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Beneventi who passed away on March 28, 2007. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be directed later.
