Greg Moorman, a man who danced his way through life with a rhythm that kept us all on our toes, has taken his final bow on December 29, 2023. Born on July 14, 1957, in Elgin, IL, Greg's zest for life was as infectious as his laugh, which could light up the darkest of rooms. He passed away leaving a legacy of love and laughter in Geneva, IL, surrounded by the melodies he so adored.
A beloved husband and companion of 43 years to Evangeline Moorman, Greg's love story was one for the books, filled with chapters of adventure, romance, and a symphony of laughter. He was a loving father who left an indelible mark on the hearts of Latoya Deli, Kristen Moorman, Christopher Moorman, Andre (Laura) Hodges, and Diere (Marcia) Hodges. A cherished son of Carolyn Logan and the late B.J. Smith, Greg was the heartbeat of his family, a role he embraced with every fiber of his being. Loving son-in-law to Rachel Blaylock. Special friend of Willard Leach, Scotty Binion and Emmett Leach.
As a grandfather to twenty grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Greg was the patriarch of a vibrant family tapestry, weaving stories and memories that will be treasured for generations. His siblings, Cecil Moorman, Parrish Moorman, the late Wilbert Mabry, James Mabry, Antoinette Moorman, and Julie Mabry, will remember him as the dear brother who always had a joke up his sleeve. His loving nieces and nephews knew him as the uncle who could turn any frown upside down.
Greg's passion for music and dancing was undeniable. He lived by the motto that life is better when you're grooving, and he shared this philosophy with everyone he met. To describe him as loving, optimistic, and spirited is an understatement. Greg was a force of nature, a whirlwind of positivity that could not be contained.
He often joked, "You know you're getting old when the candles cost more than the cake." This quip, attributed to the one and only Bob Hope, encapsulated Greg's approach to aging: a number that should never dictate the size of your dreams or the number of your dance moves.
Greg's legacy is not just in the lives he touched, but in the laughter he left behind. His presence could turn a mundane moment into a memorable one, and his absence will be felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Yet, in true Greg fashion, he would want us to smile through the tears, to find the punchline in the pain.
So, as we bid farewell to Greg Moorman, let's honor his memory by living as he did-with love in our hearts, optimism in our minds, and a dance step ready at a moment's notice. He may have left the stage, but his encore will resonate forever.

My name is Greg Simpson, Pops trained me as a Technician at streamwood behavioral, he constantly told me i was a Pup, but he was gonna make me a bulldog. When he retired we shared tears, as he told me i was no longer a Pup. Greatest man i ever met, he will always be the man who steered me in the right direction and made me a Great trainer, supervisor and leader. Im gonna miss you Pops.

I was fortunate enough to see Greg this year as we mourned the nephew of my dear friend Manuel Hector. There was a gathering at Emmett Leach's house, and Greg was the first person I saw. I said, "You know, my brother Mike loved you." Greg's reply, "I loved him, too." We talked for an hour, telling stories how my family and his crossed paths from time to time. Greg's smile and storytelling were infectious. My greatest sympathy to his family and friends. I can still see him playing guard and halfback for the Maroons With love, Jerry Powers
