Gregory Wayne Neal, age 55, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at the Westside Church of Christ with Bro. Jeff Horton officiating. Burial will follow at Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening, October 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN and on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Westside Church of Christ.
Greg was born on April 3, 1969, in Brownsville, TN to Robert Neal and Jennie Pipkin Neal. He worked as a machinist for Wright Medical. He was an outdoorsman through and through. He loved hunting and fishing, and he especially enjoyed spending time coaching and watching his daughters play softball. Family was important to him, and he was blessed by a loving and caring family.
He is survived by his wife, Libby McConnico Neal; three daughters, Courtney Graves (Andrew), Ashley Neal, and Caroline Neal; his father, Robert Neal, Sr.; two brothers, Robert (Bobby) Neal, Jr. (Amanda) and Jeffrey Neal (Marcia); two grandchildren, Easton McBride and Baylei Graves; nieces and nephews, Karsen Neal, Avery Neal, Nathan Neal, Tucker Worrell, Olivia Worrell and his longtime friend, Doug Faulkner. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sydney Neal, and his mother, Jennie Neal.
Pallbearers for the service are Nathan Neal, Doyle Neal, Jr., Ryan Neal, Dewayne Caviness, Kevin Anderson, Chris Pipkin, and Jason Meter. Honorary Pallbearers will be Timmy Caviness and Jamie Pipkin.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
