Greg Workman Obituary
Greg's life was a testament to the power of love and commitment. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Sheila (Apsey) Workman, whom he married on August 30, 1991. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Jordan (Stephanie) Workman, Chelsea (Chris) Westra, and Madison Workman. The joy of his life was further multiplied by his grandchildren: William Workman, Brady Westra, and Sutton Westra. He was the beloved son of Kay Workman and the caring brother of Robin (Cliff) Muller, who, together with nieces Aubrey Muller and Alyssa (Tim) VanderPloeg, will hold his memory dear. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Robert Workman, and birth mother, Sharon Boersma.
A proud graduate of Caledonia High School, Greg furthered his education by earning an associate's degree from Ferris State University. His professional life was spent in dedicated service at Quality Air Heating and Cooling, where he worked for over 39 years. Greg's commitment to his work was paralleled only by his involvement at Peace Church, where he was a faithful congregant and an active participant in the church golf league.
Greg's interests and hobbies reflected his love for life and nature. He found pleasure in vacationing with his family to Marco Island and Costa Rica, exploring the Upper Peninsula, cutting wood, and kayaking. His pride and joy were always his children and grandchildren. He also extended his caring heart globally by sponsoring two girls from a Ugandan orphanage. Greg was a man who found contentment in the simple pleasures of life, and his memory will be a beacon of the love and kindness he shared so freely.
Greg's family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Beeler-Gores Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 PM and again on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Peace Church from 10:00-11:00 AM, where his funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM. Pastor Jon Delger will officiate. Private burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial donations in Greg's name may be directed to the faith based orphanage in Uganda, Gonza House Ministries, 386 8th St., Plainwell, MI 49080.
