On April 1, 2025, Gregory Lawrence Barone, peacefully passed away at Cary Health and Rehabilitation in Cary. N.C. to be with his Creator, our Heavenly God. He was 63.
Greg was born on April 19, 1961, in Ohio, to the late Dr. Gregory and Joyce Barone and then spent years in Oregon, Maryland and Pennsylvania, before spending the last 30 years in North Carolina.
Greg was a Technical Support Engineer for Siemens Healthineers. He spent his entire 41-year career with Siemens Medical Systems.
Greg loved to play poker and was a member of the Kontenders Poker Club. Greg had a talent for detailed drawings. He also enjoyed watching sports, working on cars, going to NASCAR races, and spending time with his family at the beach.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Tami Barone, his children; Jennifer Barone and her husband Johnny Provenzano, Kathleen Mills and her husband Brian, Joseph Barone, and Ryan Barone, his grandson, Roman Provenzano, his mother, Joyce Barone, and his siblings, Linda Zilli and her husband Larry, Sharon Mayer and her husband Gerard, Gary Barone and his wife Petra, and Lisa Clements and her husband Scott.
Greg was recently preceded in death by his father, Dr. Gregory J. Barone.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be at 11AM on Saturday May 10th at Rogers Hovatter Funeral Home. Please dress in your favorite sports team wear, preferably an Eagles jersey.
Greg will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Davenport, IA on June 21st.
In remembrance of Greg, charitable donations may be made to SAFE Haven for Cats and No Kid Hungry.
