Gregory Andrew Bird

It is with profound sadness and absolutely broken hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Gregory Andrew Bird on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. He passed peacefully in his sleep, leaving behind a family who loved him beyond words.

Born on September 10, 1962, in New Hampshire, Greg later moved to Texas six years ago to be closer to his grandchildren - one of the best decisions he ever made. He shared 40 years of laughter, loyalty, love, and unforgettable memories with his devoted wife, Beth (St. Laurent) Bird. Their marriage was full of humor, playful antagonizing (especially during scary movies), and a bond that was truly unbreakable.

If you knew Greg, you knew he had a HUGE personality. He didn't just walk into a room - he owned it. He was effortlessly hilarious, the kind of funny that didn't even try. He made people laugh constantly and loved being the life of the party. His presence was magnetic, and his laugh unforgettable.

He was a proud - and very loud - fan of the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots. Some of our favorite memories are watching games with him while he passionately yelled at the TV (if you know, you know). The neighbors definitely knew.

Above all, Greg loved his family fiercely. He was a proud father to Megan Bird Rouser and often gloated about the fact that they talked six or seven times a day - especially since they had the privilege of working together. He adored his son-in-law, Beonville "Bee" Rouser, and treasured long conversations over bourbon and cigars.

His greatest joy was being "Papa." He loved mentoring Rae in his beloved sport of ice hockey, cheering on Amiyah and Alexis at soccer games, watching Audrey play basketball, and celebrating Makenzie's bowling medals. He was endlessly proud of Ashton, Audrey, Alexis, Raelyn, Amiyah, and Makenzie, and nothing made him happier than time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beth; his daughter, Megan; his son-in-law, Bee; his cherished grandchildren; his brother, Christopher Bird and wife Tracy; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and countless friends - including the friends who became family (you know who you are).

While our hearts ache, we find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his mom and dad, likely already making them laugh and coming up with new material about all of us.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and more details will be shared once arrangements are finalized.

Hug your people a little tighter. Greg's laughter, love, and larger-than-life spirit will live on in all of us.
