Gregory Boice Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc on Jan. 31, 2026.
Gregory S. Boice, 75, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on January 17, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Jeanette L. (Sides) Boice, with whom he shared nearly 50 years of marriage. They were married on May 22, 1976, and were looking forward to celebrating their golden anniversary this year.

Born in Pottstown, PA, on November 24, 1950, Gregory was the son of the late Charles H. Boice Sr. and Ruth E. (Lambert) Boice.

Gregory graduated from the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in 1970 and went on to build a long, hardworking career. He spent 35 years as a machinist with Universal Machine Company and later worked for 17 years at UPS as a package handler, retiring in October of 2023. He took great pride in all his work and providing for his family.

Gregory enjoyed all sports and spending time with other members of the Deaf community. In his past time, he bowled and played shuffleboard, which brought him joy, and nothing made him happier than cheering on his beloved New York Yankees. For many years, he generously shared his talents in photography and videography with the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, while also enjoying woodworking and hands-on craftsmanship.

At home, Gregory found peace and happiness outdoors, meticulously tending to his landscaping, garden, and pool. Celebrating holidays always had a special place in Greg's heart, especially those that involved costumes and fireworks. He loved attending all the sporting events that Jennifer, Jonathan, and Christopher competed in as children and through college. Greg was their #1 fan of all time. He had a playful and witty sense of humor and a natural knack for always having the right joke at the right time, accompanied by his huge smile.

Gregory enjoyed spending time and playing with his granddaughter Annabelle. They enjoyed activities such as swimming, shopping, and spending time at all her sporting events.

Gregory is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jeanette; his children, Matthew Boice, Jennifer (Ian) Buie, Jonathan Boice, and Christopher Boice; and his granddaughter, Annabelle. In addition to his parents, Gregory was predeceased by his son, Matthew Boice, his brother, Charles Boice Jr., and two infant sisters.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464, is entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences may be shared at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Keystone Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services, 1290 Broadcasting Rd., Suite 1, Wyomissing, PA 19610; the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, 100 W. School House Ln., Philadelphia, PA 19144 (Attn: John Chaplain); or the American Diabetes Association.
