Mr. Brooks passed away on May 1, 2025, at his home.
Gregory Neal Brooks was born on July 6, 1952, in Cairo, Illinois, to William Neal Brooks and Carrie Emma (Worthington) Brooks. He graduated in 1970 from Butler High School in Huntsville, Alabama, and joined the Navy shortly thereafter. Gregory worked various jobs before becoming a licensed vocational nurse and ultimately retiring from the ETMC emergency room in Tyler, Texas. Gregory was a devoted member of West Lake Baptist Church of Chandler, as well as a member of the Brownsboro, Texas Masonic Lodge #1051 and the Sharon Shrine of Tyler. His family and church activities were his highest priorities, and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Claudette Brooks of Chandler; his sons, Gregory K. Brooks of Chandler, Jason E. Brooks and wife Shelby of Whitehouse, and Steven J. Wright and wife Jodi of Chandler; his brother, William "Billy" K. Brooks and wife Janice of Paducah, Kentucky; his grandchildren, KaytLenn Longino and husband Cody, Austin Gothard and wife Mallory, Corbin Brooks, Trenton Brooks, Erica Brooks, Emma Brooks, and Camille Dworaczyk; and his great-grandchildren, Kinslee Longino, Whitlee Longino, and Myla Gothard.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
