Gregory Campbell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mrs. J.W. Jones Memorial Chapel on Jun. 25, 2024.
The Life Legacy of GREGORY MARK CAMPBELL
GREGORY MARK CAMPBELL, was born on July 28,1958 to Marjorie (Farr Campbell)
Porter and Clifton Campbell. He leaves behind sisters Janice Campbell, Andrea Hanna,
and spouse Lamar. He was preceded in death, by sister, Donna Dalrymple, spouse
Richard, and step brother, Brian Porter. He leaves behind many beloved family
members, his aunt, Elaine Farr Francis, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and
grandnephews, cousins, and friends.
Greg's life was not always easy due to various medical challenges. He endured the
debilitating effects of asthma that caused multiple hospitalizations and finally long-term
care. Gregory never failed to say how he felt, giving his opinions on medical, social and
spiritual issues. Despite his strong opinions, he loved strongly, and offered grace and
mercy to everyone. He loved his family fiercely! He was exceptionally kind; would give
the shirt off his back to those in need.
Greg was a talented artist, cook, child care worker, plumber, and overall handy-man.
He was able to fix almost anything. His service to others brought him happiness and
satisfaction. As a resident of Life Care Center of Kansas City and for the last few years,
Riverbend Post Acute Rehabilitation he was known as Mayor/Deacon Greg because of
his advocacy for, and Spiritual influence on many of the residents and staff.
In 2005, Greg accepted The Lord Jesus Christ, and was baptized in demonstration of
his commitment to serve Him. Soon after Greg's physical issues became overwhelming,
but he purposed to serve God no matter what. His life change was significant to all who
knew the old Greg. His new life was an acknowledgement of II Corinthians 5:17, he was
a new creation, the old self had passed away. His earthly journey ended on June 9 at
4:40am. Greg told those of us who were present in his last few weeks, that he was
ready to go home. We rejoice with him that he is resting in the arms of Jesus.
Today we celebrate his life, you're headed home to Glory Greg see you later!
