Gregory Allen Correll, age 71 of Celina, passed away on May 21, 2024 at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus. He was born the son of the late Kenneth Correll Sr. and Opal (Dunlap) Kingen on July 29, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana but was raised by his parents Robert "Bob" and Betty (Dunlap) Harden. On September 13, 1980, he married Kathy Winans who survives in Celina. He is also survived by his loving children Eric (Dyan) Correll of Atlanta, GA, McLean Correll of Celina, Dylan (Madison) Correll of Celina, six grandchildren Brooke, Cameron, Colleen, Seth, Wren, and Monroe, brothers Tim (Becky) Kingen of Muncie, Sam Kingen, Guy Kingen, Randy Kingen, brother-in-law Steve (Kim) Winans of Celina, sister-in-law Sandy Garee, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law June (Myron) Hyatt, father-in-law Pat Winans, brothers Carl Garee, Kenneth Correll Sr., Bob Correll, Ricky Kingen, and sister Marilyn (Steve) Routt.
Greg graduated from Parkway High School with the class of 1970. He was employed by Huffy for 29 years, Goodyear for 10 years, and CAPT for 10 years. In all these factories he was a part of the management team, people always tell Kathy "Greg was a tough boss but always a fair boss." While working at Huffy he met his wife Kathy, they were married for 43 years. Greg has been a member of the Celina Moose Lodge for 48 years, a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #5713 and the Celina Eagles. Greg enjoyed sitting on the Correll S patio guarding The Grand and yelling at the cars or motorcycles that are going "too damn fast" on West Bank Road. Coffee and a cigar in the morning, in the evening he enjoyed a fine cigar and a good glass of scotch, Chivas Regal was his favorite. A good day for Greg was golfing with his Golfers Gone Wild buddies. He enjoyed wood working and watching YouTube videos about woodworking. But the best part of his world was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Rev. Matt Overman officiating.
