Gregory Alan Cotta was born in Tulare, CA on November 17th, 1951, to parents Lawrence and Hazel Cotta. Greg passed away peacefully at 73 years old, on February 22, 2025, surrounded by family at Kaweah Health Medical Center in Visalia, CA. Greg attended Tulare Union High School, where he was active in track and field, graduating in 1969. After graduation, Greg enlisted in the US Navy where he served as a petty officer 3rd class at Lemoore NAS, building the heads-up display modules for the A-7 jets. After serving in the US Navy, Greg attended the police academy at the College of the Sequoias before joining the Tulare Police Department, serving from 1974 – 1990. Following his law enforcement career, Greg returned to the College of the Sequoias to pursue a degree in nursing. Greg dedicated 37 years to healthcare, working as a registered nurse for the Tulare District Hospital and Sierra View Hospital in Porterville, before retiring in 2019. Greg was a motorcycle enthusiast who cherished traveling, golfing, and spending quality time with his family and friends. Always looking for ways to serve, Greg was an active member of Amvet's Post 56 and the Tulare Cabrillo Club, and he dedicated many years to volunteering at the World Ag Expo. Greg's loving family includes his devoted partner of 23 years, Theresa Boyett, and her sons, Steven Boyett (Angela) and Matthew Boyett (Nicole), whose children, Liam, Ellie, and Max, brought him immense joy. Greg's legacy continues through his daughters, Angela Vega (Larry) and Heather Christenson (Dwight), with grandchildren RJ Beck and Kayleen Chabrouillaud, Chelsea Kenyon (Billy) and Bethany Christenson. Greg was also the proud great-grandfather to Emelia Chabrouillaud and Lyla Kenyon. Greg is survived by his stepsister, Patti Logan (Tom), stepbrother, Larry Pedroncelli, and sister-in-law, Karen Pedroncelli. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Hazel Cotta; stepmother, Lillian Cotta; sister, Gloria Bragg; stepsister, Luanne Pedroncelli; and stepbrothers, Ronnie and Brian Pedroncelli.
