Gregory Dahlgren

Gregory (Greg) Jerome Dahlgren, born February 17th 1956, passed away peacefully in his home on March 9th 2023 at the age of 67, leaving an enduring impact on his family, business and community.
Greg was born in Alexandria MN, the second of four children to Gordon and Marion Dahlgren. The family moved to Vergas, MN in 1956 where his father managed and later acquired the Vergas State Bank.
He graduated from Frazee High School in 1974 and St. Cloud State University in 1978, with a degree in economics. He worked at Burroughs Corporation in Bismarck and Fargo from 1978 through 1981. He returned home to the family business in 1981 where he worked alongside his father and in 2007 became president and owner of the Vergas State Bank.
He married Mary Moltzan on September 4, 1982 at the United Methodist Church in Vergas and had two children (Amber and Garrett).
Greg was an active member in the Vergas community where he served as the Mayor from 1988 to 1994. He was a member of the Vergas Lions, the Vergas Community Club, and Vergas United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Long Lake, hunting, and traveling. Greg will be remembered as an honest business owner who cared for his community and a loving husband, dad, grandpa and brother.
Greg is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter Amber (Adam) Bristlin, son Garrett (Jayme) Dahlgren, sisters Lori Olander and Julie (Joe) Bruhn and brother Lee (Kari) Dahlgren; granddaughters Aubree Bristlin and Harper Dahlgren and grandsons Ashton Bristlin and Grayson Dahlgren.
Greg was Preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Marion Dahlgren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 2:00PM at Vergas Event Center.
Visitation will be Friday, March 17 from 5-8:00PM with prayer service at 7PM at Vergas Event Center.
Interment will be at Vergas City Cemetery in the spring.
