Gregory R. Deane (Greg) passed away on October 27, 2025.

Born on a farm in Marion County, KY on March 15th,1936, Greg was the son of Tom and Lela Deane.

He was the devoted husband of the late Joanna Deane, his high school sweetheart. They were together for 65 years and married for 59.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ortella Harris, Opal Woods and Frances Parker, all of Louisville, KY; and a brother, Oscar Deane, of Savannah, GA.

He is survived by his son, Greg Deane (Jackie Hamilton); grandchildren, Aaron and Adam Deane, Jackson and Kathryn Hamilton; great-grandsons, Gavyn Deane, and Roman Deane; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Greg graduated from Fern Creek High School in 1955, where he played basketball and football. After 36 years, he retired from Ford Motor Company, LAP, where he worked as an inspector. Greg was well known in the Hikes Point area, where he owned New Release Video for 20 years. He coached, sponsored, and contributed to the Buechel Little League for many years.

Greg was strong-willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be Monday, November 3rd, from 2:00 pm -7:00 pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville KY, 40205. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 4th, at 11:00am at Highlands with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

Will always remember our good times at Hikes Point Little League games. Somehow I always got appointed Team Mother of Greg´s team! He was a great coach and the boys loved him. RIP Coach.
