“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
— Revelation 21:4 (KJV)

Gregory Edward McNair II was born on February 4th, 1980 to Gregory and Jackland McNair. From the very beginning, he was a fighter. Though doctors said he wouldn’t live past the age of ten, Gregory defied the odds with determination, strength, and an unforgettable personality that left a mark on everyone he met.

Gregory, better known as “Gregg”, was a character. His quick wit and unique humor brought endless laughter to those who knew him best. Assertive, inquisitive, and razor-sharp with his memory and sense of direction, Gregg was truly one of a kind.

Gregg attended Gorman School and later worked at United Rehabilitation Services (URS) and Employment Services for Montgomery County Board of Disabilities, where he found community and purpose. He loved being out and about, engaging with people, and living life on his terms. He was a devoted son and brother, and his presence filled every room he entered. He was baptized at an early age at Church of the Carpenter, where his spiritual journey began.

Gregory Edward McNair II was preceded in death by his mother, Jackland McNair; grandparents, John and Anna Valentine, Walter and Gloria McNair; uncles, Jake Petite Jr. and Gino Mallory; aunt, Brenda Valentine.

Precious memories will be cherished by, father, Gregory McNair; sister, Tracy McNair; aunts, Cornelia Mallory, Lawyanna Marshall (Bernard), Joyce Petite, Linda Huggins (Luke); uncle, Walter McNair Jr. (Vette); first cousins, Latashia Robinson (Will III), Tonya McNair, Luke Huggins Jr. (Sharonda), Quianna Petite-Richardson (Warren), Jake Petite III, Lorenzo Huggins, Tasheena Walker (Greg), and Terrica McNair. Gregg is also survived by a host of cousins, loved ones, and friends. Gregg touched a lot of lives and will be missed dearly.

Though his body was limited, his spirit was limitless. Now, free from pain and all earthly struggles, Gregg is fully whole—walking, running, and laughing in eternal peace.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 11am to 12pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A memorial service will begin at 12pm also at the funeral home.
