Gregory Allen Easton was known for the immense love, loyalty, and devotion that he showed to his wife, children, grandchildren, parents, and siblings. Greg was also known for his incredible dedication to his work, his dry wit, and sense of humor. Greg took his last labored breath here on earth due to pulmonary fibrosis on the morning of August 28, 2024, at 5:30 a.m. When he opened his eyes, he met his Heavenly Father, whom he loved so much, and for the first time in years, he began breathing freely.
A private graveside service will be held at the Aten Cemetery. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.
Greg was a supportive and loving husband to his wife and best friend of 38 years, Patricia Easton. Greg was an amazing role model and a hero to his two children, Wesley Easton and wife Christina Easton, and Kaitlyn Easton-Johns and Stephen Johns. Greg, also known to his grandchildren as "Papa," cherished the joy and love that each of his grandchildren brought into his life. His grandchildren are Ella Easton, Leon Johns, and Claire Johns. He was a faithful and loving son to his parents, George and Janice Easton. Three surviving siblings, Jenny Mora, Andrea Elliasson, and Jessica Edwards, cherished Greg, while his sister Amy Summers preceded him in death.
Greg loved working and was truly a "Renaissance Man." He graduated from Bob Jones University, which led to his tenure at Pensacola Christian College as the photography lab manager and head photographer. He then went on to be the photo lab plant manager at Stones Photography Studio. For the past 19 years he has been so blessed to work for "Kerrigan, Estes, Ranken, and McLeod," now known as "McLeod and Thompson." The partners at the law firm have supported Greg and showed their immense appreciation for Greg's selflessness and passionate work ethic through the good and the difficult times. Greg was such a blessing to everyone who knew him. Greg's favorite Bible verse was Psalm 8:3: "When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon, and the stars, which thou hast ordained..." Greg lived his faith, and near the end of his life, he shared his love of God with everyone he spoke to.
The family requests donations to Vitas Hospice Foundation in lieu of flowers.
The Vitas Hospice Foundation was such an incredible inspiration to our entire family, including the children, as we went through this process. In lieu of flowers, all donations can be made at the following website: https://vitascommunityconnection.org
