Mr. Gregory Scott Fields of Gillsville, Georgia died peacefully at the Veranda of Carnesville, GA on Monday, April 15, 2024. He was born on November 13, 1951. Although Greg was born in Michigan, he spent most of his life in Clermont, GA. He was the son of the late Edmund Lee Fields and Shirley Elaine Stead. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his son, Joey; and brother, Ricky.
Prior to his retirement, Greg was a Senior Staking Technician for Hart EMC, Hall County EMC, and Hi-Line engineering of Auburn, AL. Greg was very dedicated to his profession and focused on providing exceptional service to those he served.
Greg liked jokes and laughing. He was "the life of the party". He enjoyed gardening, golfing, motorcycle riding, fishing, repairing equipment, cooking, and sampling Leah Wiltsie's latest pound cake. He was "best all around!" At the end of a day's work, it was important to Greg to sit down and reminiscence about the day and enjoy looking at the sunset with Nan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nan Chambers, whom he referred to as "his sweet precious darling-love of his life." Greg is also survived by his son, Josh Fields (Shasta); granddaughters, Cora and Olivia Fields; grandson, Jake Dalton; step-daughter, Brooke Adams; brother, Bobby Fields (Nancy); sister, Becky Johnson (Greg); nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
A memorial service for Gregory Scott Fields will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, April 20 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Kelly Hannon officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1 to 2 PM.

Greg was a good friend and always willing to help if you needed it. He loved tinkering in his shop working on cars or whatever caught his fancy. He taught me how to change my brake pads and bleed the lines. He was always ready for a party with his friends and loved to cook for the event. He will be missed.
