Gregory Allen Otto, 65, of Schofield, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025. “Greg” was a beloved father, known for humor and storytelling and, above all, his kindness.
Greg was born February 2, 1960, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Kenny and Shirley Otto. He was the fifth of six children. He grew up in Kanawha, Iowa, where he attended the local schools and was a member of the Lutheran Church.
After graduation, he served in the United States Navy, stationing him across the globe before settling in Wisconsin after his discharge. Known to his friends and family by many nicknames, he loved golf, baseball, and the Wisconsin Badgers. Above all, he loved his children: Michael, Alyssa, Aaron, and his daughter-in-law, Ashley. He was also an avid pet lover and his furry companion, Bunny, was always at his side.
Greg was a man who could always light up any room, he will most be remembered for his infectious laugh and the smile he put on the faces of those around him.
Survivors include his three children and a daughter-in-law, Michael Otto (Honolulu, HI), Alyssa Otto (Philadelphia, PA), and Aaron (Ashley) Otto (Wausau, WI); brothers, Tom (Debbie) Otto (Clear Lake, IA) and Tim (Mary) Otto (Bellevue, NE); sister, Nancy (Otto) Gilbert (Mason City, IA); brothers-in-law, Jim Miller (Britt, IA) and Mickey Molencamp (Garner, IA); as well as many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and nephews.
