Delores A. Osterbrink, 91, Wausau, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Copperleaf Assisted Living, Schofield, under the care of Interim Hospice.
She was born July 6, 1934 in Athens, daughter of the late John and Ceilia (Nowicki) Albrecht Sr. On June 14, 1969, she married Marvin Osterbrink in Wausau. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2025.
Delores graduated from Holy Cross High School, an all girls school in Merrill, WI. She traveled to Florida with her cousin Florence and worked there for one year, before moving back to Wisconsin. In 1977, she began working for American Family Insurance in Wausau, where she worked until her retirement in 1999.
Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed following polka bands, gardening and traveling with her husband, Marvin to every state but two, New Mexico and Hawaii. She loved camping and sitting around the campfire enjoying the company of her family, especially her grandchildren. Delores was a fabulous cook and baker and was known especially for her German potato salad, apple dumplings, homemade bread and donuts. She was an exceptional seamstress and made many clothes for her family and business suits for the former Senator, Tony Earl.
In recent years, she liked to go to the casino, travel with her friends and play cards.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Debbie (Bob) Sherer, Jackie Sjoberg, Paul (Dianna) Osterbrink and Shawn (Anna) Osterbrink, her grandchildren, Kristina (Glenn) Strozewski, Jessica (Bryan) Olson, Michael Sherer, Matthew (Suzy) Sherer, Chase (Jennifer) Kraimer, Olivia and Cole Osterbrink, Tyler Frodl and Carson Osterbrink, her great grandchildren, Parker Strozewski, Maliyah, Mynah and Greyson Kraimer and Hollis Sherer; her sister, Patty (Tom) Niewolny; her brother, John (Debbie) Albrecht Jr.; her brother-in-law, Roger (Cindy) Osterbrink; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Osterbrink; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Marvin she was preceded in death by her son, Mike “Spike” Osterbrink, her sister, Doris Albrecht.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Tom Lindner will preside. Entombment will follow at the Holy Angels Mausoleum, Wausau. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
