Jon Bradley Kent, 63, passed away suddenly on August 17, 2025.

He was born on February 28, 1962, in Racine, WI, to Edward “Ed” and Norma (Graefe) Kent.

Growing up in Wausau, WI, Jon attended Grant Elementary School and John Muir Middle School. He would go on to graduate from Wausau West High School in 1980.

In 1982, Jon graduated from North Central Technical Institute with a degree in Architectural Residential Design. His degree would lead him to a career in architectural window design with Wausau area manufacturing businesses.

Jon was an avid music fan and concertgoer, with Fleetwood Mac, The Doobie Brothers, Eagles, and Stevie Nicks being his most attended shows. He attended many outdoor amphitheater shows in the greater Milwaukee and Chicagoland areas throughout the 1980s and 90s.

For nearly 40 years, Jon played a tremendous role in promoting pool in Wausau and the state of Wisconsin. He was a dedicated and highly skilled player who ran area leagues and tournaments and even served as league president. He competed in the Badger State Games and USA Pool League National Championships in Las Vegas, NV, for many years. In 2022, he celebrated a first-place finish at the Wausau Open tournament at Cedar Creek.

He loved the game of golf, both as a spectator and player, since the 1980s. Throughout his life, Jon would travel around Wisconsin and Michigan exploring new courses. In 2017, he attended the U.S. Open at Erin Hills in Erin, WI. Jon remained an active golfer until the very end of his life, enjoying the last few rounds with his pool friends, brothers Dave and Rick, and his nephew Ryder in late July.

Outside of his hobbies, Jon was caring and compassionate towards his family. As an attentive and supportive uncle, he enjoyed attending his niece and nephew’s school and sporting events as they were growing up. He will forever be remembered for his role as Santa, passing out the gifts under the tree, at the Kent family Christmas celebration.

Jon was also a devoted caregiver to his parents in their later years.

He is survived by his brothers, David (Pat), Plover, and Rick (Lisa), Mosinee; niece Kelcee; nephews Ryder (Becky) and great-niece Ruelle, Ryan, and Ricky (Tenley); and great-nephews Trey, Grant, and Reid.

Memorial visitation will be held at Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, in Wausau from 1:30-3:30 on Friday, August 29, 2025.
