DALTON CIRY - Gregory W. Hostetler, 48, of rural Dalton City, IL, passed away tragically on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Five Star Auto Sales, Inc., Hervey City.
A service to honor Greg's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion, IL. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will in in Marrowbone Township Cemetery, Bethany, IL.
Memorials may be made to his family.

Greg was born on December 15, 1975, in Decatur, IL, the son of Leonard and Rosalee (Ward) Hostetler. He was a graduate of Decatur Christian School in 1994. Greg was the owner and CEO of Greg's Towing and Recovery, Inc. and Five Star Auto Sales, Inc. Greg loved being in the scrap business and junking. He was a collector of old oil cans and had one of the best-known oil can collections in the country. His true passion was collecting antique toys, a hobby that he shared along with his dad during his lifetime. Greg also enjoyed old cars. While enjoying his hobbies, Greg made many true lifetime friends all over the country.
Surviving is his parents, Leonard and Rosalee Hostetler of Mt. Zion; fiance, Tonya Rudolph; and her three children: Haley, Reagan, and Ryder; sister, Cheryl Sunderland (Mark) of Bethany, IL; nephews: Hoyt Wages (Morgan), Wyatt Wages (Hailey), Kolby Sunderland, and Austin Sunderland; amazing great-nieces and nephews: Kenzie, Dallis, Rylan, and Axton; special friends and family: Trenton Ward, Mike Ward, Mark Elliott, Lucas Toohill, Stevie Sheppard, Steve Sheppard, Doug Cross, Norm Sarver; and many more friends and extended family; also surviving is his beloved faithful dog, Rush.
Greg was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Greg was described as a friend who would have done anything for anyone, with lots of true friends and a heart of gold.
