Born to Eternal Life March 11, 2026 at the age of 90. Loving husband of the late Jean Joers. Loving father of Lisa Joers and Noelle Joers - Yanisch (Mark Yanisch). Devoted grandfather of Lauren and Katie Yanisch. He is further survived by other relatives and close friends.
Greg was a lifelong member of Ascension Lutheran Church. During his adult life he held various leadership roles on the church council as well as other committees. Being involved at church brought him many lifelong friendships.
Greg enjoyed music. His love for music started at a young age when began singing in the choir at Ascension. He continued singing in choirs and choruses for 80 years. In addition to Ascension, when he retired, he began singing with the Suburban Singers and continued to his death. His favorite genres were classical and jazz. He liked attending the summer concert series in Whitnall Park where he could sit and listen to the music while enjoying a glass of wine.
Greg loved nature and was committed to learning about and protecting the environment. He enjoyed being outdoors and visiting the national and state parks. He was also an avid golfer, playing regularly with close friends throughout his life.
Greg dedicated much of his free time to volunteering. During his younger years, he gave back to his church, whether that be as a member of the Church Council, Choir member or the AMIS Committee. He spent his retirement years volunteering for organizations he was passionate about. He was Past President and an active Board Member with Friends of Wehr Nature Center. He also volunteered as a Reading Buddy with Greendale Schools, working with younger children on their reading skills.
Greg traveled quite a bit both for business and with his family. He enjoyed vacations all over the U.S., Europe and the Far East.
A celebration of life will be held on April 18, 2026. The visitation will be from 2-4 pm and a short service will follow. This will be held at:
