Gregory D. Knouse, 78, of Lewistown, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Encompass Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Gap. Born on July 27, 1946, in Lewisburg, he was the beloved son of the late Evelyn (Kratzer) Knouse. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 56 years, Linda Kay Knouse, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and unwavering partnership. Greg's legacy lives on through his children, James Knouse and wife Lidiya of Milroy, and Shelby Knouse of Burnham. He is also survived by his brothers, Gale "Butch" Knouse and Robert Knouse, both of Middleburg; his cherished grandchildren, Desiree Orndorf, Kaden Knouse, Madelyn Knouse, and Ava Knouse; and four great-grandchildren. A proud veteran, Greg served his country with honor-first in the United States Army for four years, followed by six years in the Army National Guard. His strong work ethic continued throughout his civilian life, spending 27 dedicated years in maintenance at Sperry New Holland before retiring in 2001. Greg had a lifelong love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, often sharing these moments with his family. Gifted with a natural talent for fixing anything, he was the one everyone turned to when something needed repair. Above all, Greg and Linda will be remembered for their remarkable generosity-the kind of people who would gladly do without so that others might have more. In accordance with his wishes, no public services will be held. Arrangements are under the care of King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown. Those who wish to honor Greg's memory are invited to make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
