Gregory Livesay Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hall Funeral Home - Purcellville on Feb. 2, 2026.
Gregory Frazer Livesay, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in Winchester, VA.

Born July 21, 1957 in Leesburg, VA, he was the fourth of five children born to the late Milam Earl Livesay and Ethel Mae Livesay. Raised in Leesburg, he attended Loudoun County High School where he would form many lifelong friendships and meet his future wife Sally.

His working career spanned many years, most notably serving as Director of Facilities for Fauquier and Warren County Public Schools. Upon his retirement in 2023, he most enjoyed his time golfing with his wife, taking many beach vacations with friends and family, ensuring his many dogs never wanted for a treat or pizza crust, and being the best "Pop" to his beloved grandchildren.

Greg was preceded in death by his siblings Timothy Livesay and Melody Livesay. He is survived by his siblings Carol Fletcher and Steven Livesay, his wife Sally and two children: Dane Livesay, Derek Livesay and wife Sarah, and two grandchildren: Olivia (his "Sunshine") and Frazer (the "Dude") Livesay.

He will be remembered as an exceptional husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11 AM with services to begin at 12 noon at Hall Funeral Home in Purcellville, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Greg's honor to the American Heart Association.

Dear Greg,
May God bless you and may your soul rest in God's loving peace. I knew and was friends with Greg professionally for many years through our regional school administrators group.

He was naturally friendly to everyone, as if he never knew a stranger. He definitely added to our group discussions on various school system issues and would provide excellent common sense solutions, no doubt, based on his many years of knowledgeable school administrator experience.

My heart is with Greg's loved ones at this sad time of his early departure. But I know his soul is at peace and full of joy at home with his Heavenly Father. May God Bless you all.
