Gregory A. Mayes

MAYES, Gregory "Greg" – of Flint, age 53, died Monday, September 22, 2025, at McLaren Oakland. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Greg's daughter, Danielle, to assist with cremation expenses.
Greg was born March 5, 1972, in Flint, and grew up in the Flint area. He worked in the roofing industry for much of his life and was most proud of being involved with the "Roofing Group." Greg was a witty, big-hearted person who enjoyed spending time with his family – especially his children and grandchildren. He always put others first and if you couldn't find him on the ground, all you had to do was look up at a roof and you'd see him. Greg would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Greg is forever loved by: Children: Danielle (George) Gleffe, Dakota Mayes, Sierra Mayes, and Dylan Mayes; Bonus Daughters, Alysia McRae and Destiney Sears; Grandchildren: Kalianna "Kali Girl", George "Little G", and Gregory "Twin"; Mother, Vicki (Steve) Horton; Siblings: Mike, Michelle, Joel, and Cass; Significant other, Leslee Badenhoop; Beloved friend, Sheri Mayes; Lifelong friends, Richard and Patti; Several nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Greg was preceded in death by: Father, Russell Story-Mayes; Aunt, Heather; Best friend, Billy.
