Gregory Glen Nethery was born in Columbia, Louisiana, on January 10, 1960. He learned many life lessons in the early mornings while working on his family farm and eventually throwing newspapers around LaSalle parish. As an early riser, he loved the rare opportunity for a slow morning spent drinking coffee and listening to music on the porch. His love for music was infectious and his voice echoed throughout his home on a daily basis. From singing hymns in church, to rock n roll in the car, and even an occasional mainstream country song that caught his attention, he was definitely a big music guy. He knew every word to every good song, was usually able to pinpoint the year it came out, while waxing poetic about a memory accompanying that song in the soundtrack of his life. He felt like he was the luckiest guy in the world to grow up exploring Caldwell and LaSalle parishes and never missed an opportunity to come back for a visit.

He worked his way through college while also drilling offshore and became captivated by the industry. As a hardworking, intelligent, and charismatic man, he was always bound to be a successful entrepreneur. He founded On-Site Fleet Service in 1987, which evolved to On-Site Fuel Service in the 90s. As CEO he involved his family in every facet of the business and brought them to work whenever he could. Both of his children spent time working with him in different capacities at On-Site, and they feel so grateful for those hours spent together, watching their dad grow the business to an Inc 500 business with locations in 12 states. He was honored as top 40 under 40 in Mississippi and received many accolades as an entrepreneur. In more recent years he partnered with his son Zach to follow his long-time interest to pursue real estate development as well as the drilling business. He met and overcame many challenges while pursuing his dreams, but always held strong to his faith. Greg and LeAnn shared 35 years of marriage and raised their children in Jackson, Mississippi where they were active members at Christ United Methodist Church. He is known by many as “Coach Nethery” from the baseball, football, and soccer fields and he served as the Jackson Academy Booster Club president for 2 years, overseeing his passion project of the training facility. He loved the family environment at JA and worked hard to provide his children with a great education. Some of his top highlights of being a dad included the rafting trips in North Carolina and Tennessee with his kids, their friends and other dads, where he was affectionately dubbed as “Big Greg”.An avid history buff, he shared his love for America with his family through many road trips across the country, always stopping to read the historical markers, aka the green signs. Road-trips were always spent spotting cool cars and looking for potential customers for On-Site. He had a wealth of knowledge when it came to cars and restored a plethora of vintage vehicles over the years. Some of his most cherished memories were at Cedar Creek, a stunning landscape he envisioned after a fly-fishing trip to Colorado. Greg created it to give his family a place to retreat and enjoy wildlife, while also providing a place for friends and family to share in fellowship while immersed in the beautiful outdoors. He loved quiet days spent rocking on the porch with the family dog Delta and nothing but the sound of wind chimes, ducks quacking, and the running water in the background. He equally loved the hospitality duties of hosting a big party on Christmas Eve Eve, when the CDs were playing “Cabin Music” and faces of laughter were captured by the glow of the bonfire. Greg lived by the golden rule and shared his daily devotional readings with his children, always accompanied by a great story of his own lived experiences to bring the Word of God into their lives. His family finds peace knowing they will see him again in our eternal home. He loved our country and truly believed in the pursuit of the American dream. He was deeply passionate about a better future for his children and grandchildren and upheld a great respect for wildlife. In lieu of flowers, we hope you will donate to a cause that supports an organization committed to a healthy, safe, and better America.

Greg was preceded in death by his father, Glen Nethery. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Murlene Nethery; his son, Zach Nethery; daughter, Haley Nethery Aldridge (David); two brothers and a sister: Mike Nethery (Donna), Jon Nethery (Donna), and Merry Nethery; grandchildren, Ann Morgan Aldridge, Palmer Aldridge, Tripp Aldridge; fiancé, Paige Motter; and the mother of his children, LeAnn Nethery.
