Gregory Oates Obituary
Gregory Michael Oates Sr. age 52, passed away on January 2, 2024, after an unexpected illness. He was surrounded by family.
Greg was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 17, 1971, to the late Norman Oates and Karen (Koleff) Oates. He moved to Florida in 1986 with his family and settled in Barefoot Bay. He was a member of the Barefoot Bay Golf Club and served with the Micco Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department.
Greg was a graduate of Palm Bay High School and also held a Paralegal Degree from Keiser College. Greg attended Calvary Chapel, West Melbourne, Florida.
In 1989, He was certified as a Florida State Specialty Contractor and formed Affordable Screening & Aluminum Repairs, Inc. which he owned and operated until his death.
Greg was very passionate about his children and family and was very involved with all aspects of his children's lives and education. He also loved and participated in sports of all types and was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins, Florida Gators, and the Orlando Magic.
Greg is survived by his Mother, Karen (Koleff) Oates, and Children, Brittany Oates, Rylee Oates, Aubrey Oates, Gregory Oates Jr., Amber Gonzalez (Stepdaughter), Grandchildren, Dominic Godfrey and Lyla Chase, "Uncle", Jim Koleff and the love of his life, Bonnie Thein.
Greg will always be remembered for his kind and giving nature, his dedication to his family, and his passion for building through his business. He leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and a deep commitment to our Lord, Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Internment at Fountainhead Memorial Park with a Graveside Memorial Service for Family members only.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date to be determined by the Family.

Met Greg by chance at Marie St park a year ago. I had the opportunity to have Greg do work for me on two occasions. He always made me feel like my satisfaction was so important to him. He did his last project at my home , just days before he ended up in the ICU. He will always be present in my thoughts in my new screen room. Miss your presence my friend !
