Gregory Popp

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Gregory S. Popp earlier this week. Greg was born February 17, 1962 in Dayton, OH to the late Reinhard Popp and Lilly Schlehuber. A beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Greg lived a life marked by laughter, compassion, and connection.
Greg was the proud father of two children and a loving Opa to five grandchildren, all of whom were the light of his life. He married Jennifer in 1968 and together they created a beautiful life filled with love, laughter and lasting memories.
A longtime employee of Bank of America as a senior VP, Greg brought dedication and warmth to his work, just as he did to every relationship he touched. He had a gift for conversation and could strike up a meaningful talk with anyone, about anythingalways with humor, empathy, and a twinkle in his eye.
Greg had many passions. He loved animals and treated them like family. He was devoted to health and fitness, and found joy in cookingespecially smoking meats to perfection. Whether he was sharing a meal, a joke, or a story, Greg made people feel at home.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Greg was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Jenny as well as his parents. He is survived by his daughter Danielle (Wesley) McCormick and his son Connor (Alyssa), as well as grandchildren Alyana, Benjamin, Aubrey, Liam and Emilia. He is also survived by 1 brother, 2 sisters and numerous other family members and friends alike.
Greg will be cremated, and his family will honor his memory with a celebration of life, where his warmth, laughter, and spirit will be remembered with love. The celebration will be held Saturday, July 19th from 12 pm to 2 pm at Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville, with a service to follow. His ashes will be interred next to Jenny at Blendon Central Cemetery at a later date.
