Gregory Cecil Ward, 66, of Coal City, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2024. He was born on August 20, 1957, to the late Eldridge Cecil Ward and Mary Louise Ward, of Coal City, West Virginia.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda K Ward,  and son, Gavin G. Ward; two step-children, Mike Pack and his wife Kim, of Beckley, West Virginia, and Cheryl Voll, of Georgetown, Kentucky; siblings, Sandra Gail Piercy and her husband Jerry, of Coal City, West Virginia; Pamela Sue Hanshaw of Lakeland, Florida; nieces and nephews, Jerry Dale Piercy, and his wife, Krista Piercy, of Grandview, West Virginia; Kimberly Blackburn, and her husband, Darrell Blackburn, of Coal City, West Virginia; Jeffrey Hanshaw, and his wife, Kimberly Hanshaw, of Lakeland, Florida; Wendy Hanshaw, of Lakeland, Florida; Marcus Hanshaw, and his wife Anna of Gainesville, Florida; and several other step grandchildren and nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Gregory Cecil was a beloved husband and father. Gregory Cecil attended Glen White Baptist Church. He was a retired Coal Miner who was a proud member of the United Mine Workers of America.

A celebration of his life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday March 11, 2024, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 p.m., at Calfee Funeral Home, 800 S. Oakwood Ave., Beckley, West Virginia.
