With profound love and gratitude for the life he lived, the family of Gregory Weaver announces his passing on Friday, March 13th.
Greg leaves behind a legacy defined not only by what he accomplished, but by the countless lives he touched with his generosity, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Greg was the kind of man people naturally gravitated toward. Wherever he went, someone knew him, someone had a story about him, and someone stopped to shake his hand and talk awhile. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and for bringing laughter wherever he was.
In his younger years, Greg was an exceptional athlete. A talented golfer, he was good enough to be offered the opportunity to play competitively at the collegiate level. His competitive spirit extended beyond the course, including bowling, where he once rolled an impressive 298 game.
Greg carried that same determination and work ethic into his professional life. He and his wife Jeanie Weaver founded and operated Superior Plating in Fairmont, West Virginia, building a successful industrial chroming business through hard work, perseverance, and pride in providing for their family.
Later in life, Greg retired to
Conway, South Carolina, where he embraced the slower pace of coastal living. He enjoyed spending his days doing the things he loved most, riding motorcycles, golfing along the beautiful Carolina coast, and spending time with the people who meant the most to him.
But the true measure of Greg's life was never found only in his accomplishments. It was found in the way he showed up for the people he loved. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Jeanie Weaver, whom he loved deeply, and a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who took great joy in the lives of his family.
Greg is survived by his wife Jeanie Weaver; his children, Tina Lee and Rob Winemiller; his grandchildren, Christine Perrella (husband Patrick Perrella) and Kasey Lee (wife Alex Lee); and his great-grandchildren, Brooks and Blake Perrella and Mia Lee, all of whom brought him immense pride and happiness. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Those who knew Greg will remember a man of strength, resilience, humor, and warmth. A man who built a life not only through hard work, but through the love he gave so freely.
His presence will be deeply missed, but the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will continue to live on in the family he cherished.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Latimer's Funeral Home.
