Gregory Paul Wright, 57, of Selmer, Tennessee, passed away in his childhood home on June 13, 2024.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1966 to Jerry and Nancy Wright, Greg spent his formative years in Selmer, Tennessee. He enjoyed playing golf at the Selmer Country Club and was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals. Greg attended McNairy Central High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Freed-Hardeman University. During his many years working at Walmart, Greg formed lasting friendships that he cherished deeply.

Family was everything to Greg. He loved his daughters, Esthelee Marie and Olivia Dallas, and loved teaching them baseball, taking them to the beach, and being involved in their lives. This year, he was thrilled to be promoted to grandpa.

Greg had a soft spot for animals, treating each furry friend as a beloved family member. His friendships were lifelong, from little league baseball to raising their children together, Greg and his friends remained inseparable.

A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Selmer, Greg valued his time with his small men's group. Those who knew him will remember his love for Reese’s cups, striving to beat his new walking record, eating Saw Meal’s catfish, and jumping waves at the beach with his girls.

Greg will always be remembered for his sense of humor and ability to make others laugh. We’ll forever picture his smiling face. He was a remarkable man who touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

Greg was preceded in death by his older brother, Jeffery Wright, and his oldest daughter, Esthelee Marie Pirtle. He is survived by his youngest daughter, Olivia Wright of Adamsville, TN; his parents, Jerry and Nancy Wright of Selmer, TN; his brothers, Gary (Wendy) Wright of Murfreesboro, TN, and Todd (Danielle) Wright of Knoxville, TN; and his nieces, Abbi Wright and Kelsi Wright and nephew, Nolan Wright of Knoxville, TN.
