Greta Charlene Pratt-Tickerhoof, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025. at the age of 89, at home in Clarksville, TN. after an extended illness. A celebration of Greta's life will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, February 25th, 2025 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Banessa Sweat, Hospice Chaplain officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Sikeston Memorial Park, Sikeston, MO. Born August 18, 1935, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Charles L. Pratt and Hazel Pratt-Rose. She was born during the Great Depression into a humble family. At the age of 15 she married Albert Tickerhoof and together they had two daughters, Lillian and Marie. Life was never easy for her from the beginning. She endured many hardships. However, she was strong, and tough, and made the best of every situation. As a single mother she worked hard, loved her family, and made many sacrifices for them to have a better life. Greta Charlene had a no-nonsense attitude and never hesitated to speak her mind, but beneath her tough exterior was a person who loved and cared deeply for her family and friends. She was a devoted mother to her two daughters, and a proud grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving sister, aunt, and a great friend. Nothing brought her more joy than hearing family news. She enjoyed hearing the news of every, engagement, wedding, new baby, graduation, vacation and any other happy event in the family and was always so proud all of their achievements. Throughout the years, she was known for her unwavering service and dedication to the senior community where she resided, in Mt Clemens, Michigan. She spent countless hours volunteering where her generosity and compassion touched the lives of many. She also found joy in life’s simple pleasures. A lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers Baseball team, she loved collecting Detroit Tiger baseball memorabilia and kept meticulous stats on the entire team. She loved to knit blankets for loved ones. She also enjoyed spending time reading the morning newspaper, watching game shows on TV, working crossword puzzles, and word find books and spending time with her family. She approached life with grace and faith in God. Her wisdom and gentle spirit were a guiding force, providing comfort and advice to those in need. Greta Charlene will be remembered for her boundless love, her unwavering strength, and the joy she brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and a life well-lived. Rest in peace, dear one. You will be forever missed and lovingly remembered. She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lillian Tickerhoof, parents Charles Pratt and Hazel Pratt-Rose, sister Ethel Hassig, and her brother-in-law Donald Hassig. She leaves behind her daughter Marie (the late Philip) Beck, her cherished granddaughters, Sheila Donaldson, and Angela (Jason) Childs, her great-granddaughters, Kayla (Mike) Lyons, Kristian (April) Ferguson, great-great grandson,Jordan Lyons, step grandson, Darin (Brianna) Beck, step-granddaughter, Darla Beck, step great grandsons, Ethan Beck, Avery Beck, Kendall Suiter, Joshua Suiter, sisters , Annetta (the late Bill) Stewart, Judy (David) Krause. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
