Grethel Bush Obituary

Grethel White Bush, 80, went to meet her Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 14th, surrounded by her loving family talking about memories and stories they all shared, which is exactly how she would have wanted it. Grethel was born on June 25, 1945 in Breathitt County, Kentucky to Georgie and Floyd White. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Grethel dedicated her life to her family. She was a loving wife, to her husband, Dillo, for 31 years, and a cherished mother to her two children, Patricia and Charles. She had much pride when talking about her children and loved them dearly. She adored her grandchildren, Courtney, Darion, Dylan and Dalton and always made time for them, whether cooking their favorite meal, attending a sporting event or taking them to and from school. Grethel also found much joy in her great-grandchildren; Liam, Elliana, Daxton and Huxley and would often be in the middle of whatever new game or song they had playing when they visited.

Grethel was known for many things- her athletic ability, as she was an incredible softball player, bowler and had the most trophies in the house. She was a hard worker and never sat still- always cleaning, mowing or doing whatever needed to get done. She was an incredible cook and made it look easy. She loved sitting around the table and telling stories of her childhood and her younger years - her laughter was infectious, and her smile lit up the room. She loved her family....there was no doubt about that. Grethel was also compassionate and generous to others - always willing to help with whatever was needed. She had many friends and loved spending time with them. Grethel made the world a better place.

Grethel is survived by her husband, Dillo Bush; daughter, Patricia Hutchinson Mullins and husband Tim; son, Charles Hutchinson and wife Leann; brother, Ishmael White and wife Shirley and brother, Mike White and wife Judy and Joe White . Also, grandchildren, Courtney Hover Shaw and husband Chris, Darion Hutchinson, Dylan Baker, Dalton Baker, Amanda Bush and Randi Bush. Great- grandchildren, Liam Hover, Elliana Hover, Daxton Shaw and Huxley Shaw.

Proceeding Grethel in death were her mother and father, Georgie White and Floyd White, her sisters, Olia White and Isabell Gay. Her brothers, Brown White, Arthur White and Curt White. Also, Claude Hutchinson.

Visitation is at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, Indiana on Tuesday, August 19 from 4:00-8:00pm and Wednesday, August 20 from 9:00am -1:00pm. Funeral services will be following at 1:00pm on August 20. Grethel will be laid to rest at White and Roberts Cemetery, in Austin, IN.

Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Lake Pointe Village in care of Buchanan Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be expressed online at www.buchananfuneralhome.net
