Grover Baldwin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Raymond Funeral Service PA - La Plata on Jan. 7, 2026.
Grover Cleveland Baldwin Jr., aged 82, of Waldorf, MD, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Grover retired from Safeway after over 40 years of dedicated service in the Washington D.C. area. He was a devoted member of the Good Samaritan Presbyterian Church. In his youth, he, along with his family and friends, spent numerous weekends engaged in boating and waterskiing activities. He had a passion for travel, embarking on countless journeys across the U.S. and internationally. Additionally, Grover was an avid train and streetcar enthusiast from his childhood in Washington D.C., where he frequently rode streetcars throughout the city. This interest sparked his hobby of collecting model trains, and he relished attending train shows with friends and family. Grover consistently sought opportunities to include train rides during his many trips and vacations, spanning from Maine to Alaska.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland Baldwin Sr. and Helen Cecilia Smith Baldwin, as well as his first wife, Judith Baldwin, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage, and their daughter, Krista Marting. He is survived by his second wife, June Burke; his brother, Michael Baldwin; his sister, Jenny Dix; his and Judith's son, Jeff Baldwin (Christy); son-in-law, Scott Marting; five grandchildren, Nicole and Ethan Marting; Mackenzie, Madison, and Marissa Baldwin; and many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 12, 2026 from 2:30 – 4:30 PM and from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646. Service will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Good Samaritan Presbyterian Church, 13025 Good Samaritan Drive, Waldorf, MD 20601. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
