Guelda Vivian “Dusty” Peterson, 85, died Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Born in Bowersville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Doyle Webster Hicks and Sadie Brown Hicks. In addition to her parents and husband, Dusty was preceded in death by her husband David William Peterson, son Brian K. Peterson, grandson, Jonathan Richard Peterson and siblings, Emma Hicks “Beanie” Christian, Ellis Talmadge Hicks and Daltha Maria “Dot” Almond
Dusty retired from Dr. McDonald’s dental practice as a dental assistant and worked in the school cafeteria at Prince Avenue Christian School. She was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons: Dennis Dale (Amy) Peterson and Duane Edward (Katharine) Peterson; daughter in law: Susan Peterson; grandchildren: Hope, Holly, William, Tanner, Britni, Andrew, Jonathan and Audrianna; great grandchildren: Ronin, Shadeja, Lyric, Oakley and Waylon; niece: Donna Christian-Kalin; nephews: Michael, Daniel and Steven Chrisian; great niece: April and great great nephew: Jack.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 1PM at Lord and Stephens East Chapel with Pastor David Hutchins officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
