"Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother & sister"
Guilhermina Goncalves Dinis, age 96, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Abbott Terrace Health Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Armindo Teixeira Dinis.
Guilhermina was born on April 18, 1928 in Macieira, Portugal, a daughter of the late Alfredo Goncalves and Rosalina Da Silva. She worked as a polisher at Waterbury Buckle for several years before her retirement. She was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and working in her flower garden.
Guilhermina is survived by her two loving sons and their wives, Fernando Dinis (Maria) and Alcino Dinis (Isolina) of Waterbury, CT; her beloved grandchildren, Jose, Antonio, Alcino, Michael and Jennifer. She also leaves ten great- grandchildren, sisters, Maria Goncalves of France, Lionida Goncalves of Portugal and Fatima Dinis (Angelo) of Waterbury, CT, as well as a brother-in-law, several sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
Guilhermina's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Abbott Terrace for the wonderful care given to her through the years.
Arrangements: Guilhermina's funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Lamas de Olo in Vila Real, Portugal at a later date. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday morning from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
