Guillermo Archuleta Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Romero Valley Funeral Home, Inc. - Antonito on Jan. 21, 2026.
Guillermo Leroy Archuleta, 86, of Antonito, Colorado, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, in the community where he was born and raised.

Guillermo was born on March 26, 1939, in Antonito, Colorado. A proud patriot, he served his country by joining the United States Marine Corps, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and honor. After his military service, he went on to retire from civil service in Barstow, California. Following retirement, Guillermo returned home to Antonito, where his heart always remained.

Guillermo was deeply devoted to his fellow veterans. He was actively involved in local veterans' activities in both Antonito and Alamosa and took special care to ensure that veterans who passed on were properly recognized and honored for their service. His respect for service, community, and tradition left a lasting impact on those around him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Corinne Archuleta, and his cherished daughter, Patricia Archuleta. Guillermo is survived by his children: Jerry Archuleta, Wayne Archuleta, Shirley Mendez, and Scott Archuleta, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Antonito, Colorado. Graveside services will follow immediately after.

Guillermo Leroy Archuleta will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, country, and community, and for the quiet strength and kindness he shared with all who knew him.

Zamora and Taylor families

January 22, 2026

We will always cherish the memories of the Archuleta and Zamora family gatherings. "Archie" always made things fun and adventurous, especially on our very numerous camping adventures. Though that was many years ago, his memory and the life he led continues to be an example for us to follow. His witty humor, combined with his humility and servant's heart to his faith, family, friends, community and fellow veterans shall live on in us. We will miss him, but his bright spirit in life will continue within us. Photo is of Archie and Tony and Phyllis Zamora, going to visit the grave of Corrine Archuleta, his wife who also holds a very special place in our hearts.
