Gus Mohammadi of Barnesville, Maryland died on September 5th, 2025 at the age of 72.

Gus was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Born on November 12, 1952 in Malayer, Iran, he was the proud son of the late Ahmed and Pari Mohammadi. He is survived by his wife Anne (Jan) Mayfield Mohammadi, daughter Mitra Mohammadi Tolson and her husband Mark Tolson, stepdaughter Melissa Wingate and her husband Marc, Stephanie Todd, widow to predeceased stepson Christopher Todd, sister Mojgan Mohammadi Rahai and her husband Saeed and their daughter Nelou, and brother Hamid Mohammadi. The family would also like to honour his dear friend and uncle Dr Mahmood Mohamadi, his sons Ali and Afshin Mohamadi and their children.

Gus studied aeronautical engineering at East Carolina University, but chose racecars instead of rocketships. He was an avid participant in road racing with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Gus owned and operated ESM Racing with his wife and crew chief, Jan, and was a Porsche master mechanic and race engineer, helping his driver to break numerous track records in the Eastern United States.

Gus made friends wherever he went, and was always there to offer a helping hand and welcoming smile to everyone. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.

Gus was interned at Oak Hill Cemetery on September 13, 2025 in the Mayfield family plot Jan's family is buried.

In lieu of flowers we respectfully request donations be made to the GoFundMe page to assist the Jan with expenses while she closes Gus's business.
