Gust H. Swanson

Gust H. Swanson, 86, of Busti, died Wednesday December 3, 2025, in Encompass Health, Erie.
A lifelong area resident, he was born September 22, 1939, in Jamestown, a son of the late Charles and Virginia Arp Swanson.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Blackstone Manufacturing and earlier by Dahlstrom Manufacturing. His other well-known career was that of a bartender at Bud's Carriage House and LaScala's Restaurant.
He was a member of Herman Kent Post American Legion, Moose Lodge and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club.
Gust was extremely proud of his family, and he loved them immeasurably. He also enjoyed his cars.
Surviving is his wife Margaret Mierzwa Swanson, whom he married June 30, 1962; two sons Barry (Barbara) Swanson of Jamestown and Jeffrey (Molly) Swanson of Busti; grandchildren Mikaela and Emily Swanson and Emma and Jacob Martin and two sisters Louise (Bob) Brown and Susan Bush both of East Randolph.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Gladys Walters and Mabel John and brothers Robert, Paul and Carl Swanson.
The funeral will be held at 10 am Monday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Busti Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 3-5 pm Sunday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
