Guy R Bertram

Guy R. Bertram passed away on December 29, 2025 at the age of ninety-one. At his bedside was Donna, his loving and dedicated wife of fifty years. Guy is also survived by his daughter, Heidi Bertram-Brown, beloved son-in-law, Aaron Brown, daughter Kathy Niamtu and his treasured grandchildren.
Guy is preceded in death by his brothers, Warren, Byron, Bruce, Blaine, and Keith and daughter, Sharlene Sphuler.
Guy was a proud veteran who served in the US army and later as a member of the American Legion Post 44 Honor Guard. It was with equal pride that Guy served his community. He taught and coached within the Canton City school system for over 30 years. After retirement, he went on to continue coaching with The First Tee for over two decades. Additionally, he served as the first Executive Director of the Canton program.
Until the end of his life, Guy held in his heart those he had the privilege to impact as a teacher, coach, mentor, and friend.
In accordance with Guy's wishes, no formal funeral services will be held, however, there will be a celebration of life at a later date. Guy's family asks those who wish to honor him to do so with a donation to The First Tee of Canton or to honor his legacy by giving of their time to improve the lives of the children of Canton, Ohio.
