Jack Bowling, 80, passed away July 6, 2024, in Abilene, Texas. A graveside service will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W. Lake Road, Abilene, Texas.

Jack was born February 10, 1944, to Guy and Jane Bowling in Camp Forrest, Tennessee. After graduating from high school, Jack enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he dedicated his life to serving his country. It was during this time that he met and married the love of his life, Etta (Mary) Bowling, on June 17, 1963. Their union was a testament to true love and partnership, and together, they seized the opportunity to travel the world, experiencing life in various cities and countries.

Jack's military service allowed the couple to live in and visit many countries, with some of his favorites being Japan, Spain, Germany, Italy, and England. Jack was stationed all over the United States, including Lakeland Air Force Base. Here he made many lifelong friends and memories and retired with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.

Outside of his military service, Jack had a passion for restoring old cars and electronics, a hobby that showcased his skill and dedication. His pride and joy was restoring a 1957 Bel Air and a Ford Galaxy 500 1969 convertible. He also had a keen eye for photography, capturing moments that will now serve as cherished memories for his family. Additionally, Jack was an avid coin collector, enjoying the history and stories behind each piece. He loved music and had a wide variety of genres.

Above all Jack loved his family, especially his great grandkids. His face would light up anytime he was with them.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Etta Bowling; his parents, Guy and Jane Bowling; his daughter, Pamela R Bowling; and his great granddaughter, Macy Bowling.

Jack is survived by his children, Travis Bowling (Ann), and Erik Bowling; his grandchildren William Bowling (Allison), and Scarlet Bowling; his great grandchild, Hudsyn Bowling; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
