Stanley Eugene Davidson, 77, entered the gates of Heaven on August 8, 2025, in Tupelo, Mississippi. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Friday, August 15, 2025, in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11:00 AM.
Stanley was born on January 31, 1948, in Abilene, Texas, to Finner and Nettie Davidson. He attended and graduated from Abilene High School. Stanley dedicated many years of service to Gooch Packaging before concluding his career as a correctional officer at the Robertson Unit.
A man who appreciated the beauty of the outdoors, Stanley enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bird watching-especially the delicate dance of hummingbirds. His life was anchored in faith as a lifetime member of Hamby Baptist Church. Above all, he was a devoted follower of Jesus and cherished his family deeply.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Finner and Nettie Davidson; and his beloved fur baby, Kalel.
Stanley is survived by his two daughters, Tammy Hadley, and Tawnya Romito (Tim); his granddaughter, Stacie Crowe (Josh); his two great granddaughters, Emma Crowe, and Evelyn Crowe; his fur babies, Teenie, Littleman, Sam, CeCe, Chance, and Sandy; and numerous extended family members.
Stanley's steadfast faith, gentle spirit, and love for others will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
