Augustina “Tina” Johnson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, on March 29, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and family. She was born on August 18, 1937, in Mathis, Texas, and was a long-time resident of Haskell, Texas, where she built a life centered around caring for others and bringing people together.

She never met a stranger, once you were introduced to Tina, you became family. Her home was always warm, welcoming, and filled with laughter, especially during the holidays when she decorated festively. She found happiness in crocheting, making homemade tortillas, holiday baking, and preparing tamales each year alongside her ever-growing family. These traditions became cherished memories that will live on for generations.
Tina is survived by her loving children: Raymond Rodela (wife Dawn), Randy Johnson (wife Ruby), Patsy Gonzales (husband Abel), Sally Sanchez (husband Raymundo), Juanita Guevara, Bonnie Phillips (husband Ethan), Marie Gonzales (husband Johnny), Kay Storm (Phillip), Linda Conlon, and Anna Marie Gonzales; daughters-in-law Robin Rodela and Dennie Rodela.
She is also survived by her brothers Tony Silba and Edward Silba (wife January); sisters Rosa Rangel (husband Frank), Alex Garcia (husband Philip), and Carolyn Abila; along with 25 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and counting, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy continues to grow through each of them.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, her beloved husband Cecil Johnson, her sons Timmy Rodela, Patrick Rodela, and Christopher “Bobby” Rodela, her brother Jessie Silba, her sister Eloisa Soto, and her son-in-law Robert Guevara.
Tina touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. Whether through a warm meal, a helping hand, or simply her presence, she made the world a better place for everyone who knew her.
