Guy W. Brown, 72, of Lubbock, was lifted into heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, November 22, 2024. Guy was born on June 16, 1952, in Carrizozo, Lincoln County, New Mexico, to the late William R. Brown and Dorma Dell (Calentine) Brown.
Guy attended Socorro High School in New Mexico and graduated with the senior class of 1970.
Guy met the love of his life, Kaylene Pearce, and they were united in marriage on July 8, 1972, in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Out of this union, Guy and Kaylene were blessed with a son and daughter.
He loved his Church family and was always excited to help anyone he could with their walk with Christ. If there was someone in need, he would work tirelessly to rally the troops and fill the need. He was a true family man and held his family in high esteem, loving them dearly. He could often be found at the local gun range shooting with the kids and grandkids. Guy attended Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where he obtained his Master of Occupational Therapy, in 2002. He practiced as an Occupational Therapist from 2002 until he had to retire this year due to his health. Prior to practicing as an Occupational Therapist, he served several counties in New Mexico in law enforcement in Lincoln, Quay, Eddy and Curry counties, for 17 years. He was awarded Law Enforcement Officer of the Year in Quay County, 1989. He also attended and graduated from the Sunset School of Preaching at Sunset Church of Christ, now known as the Sunset International Bible Institute (SIBI) from 2014 to 2016. Guy has been a long-time member of Green Lawn Church of Christ since 1996.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Kaylene of Lubbock; one son, Jeremy Brown and wife Amy of Temple, Texas; one daughter, Amanda Breninger and husband Peter of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Christian Brown, Austin Brown, Kaleb Brown, Pierson Breninger, Jensen Breninger and Norah Breninger; one great-granddaughter, Audrey Brown.
