RICHFORD – Guy Marchessault, age 81, passed away on Saturday, December 27th, 2025 at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT.
He was born on November 5, 1944, to George and Denise (Tetreault) Marchessault.
Guy was particularly passionate about golf, often shooting close to par, a testament to his skill and love for the game. He found joy in watching professional hockey, especially his beloved Canadiens, a bond he shared with his sons. Guy was a dedicated laborer in the blue seal industry and was known for his strong work ethic and determination for over 40+years with them. Guy was characterized by his boldness and directness, but beneath that exterior resided a heart full of love for his family. He cherished the time spent with his children, John and Tony, engaging in spirited discussions about sports, reminiscing about old memories, and sharing laughter. Friends and family will fondly remember his early love for playing darts and softball.
He is survived by sons, John Marchessault and his wife, Gillian, and Tony Marchessault and his wife, Eva; grandchildren, Emma and her significant other, Andrew, and AJ Marchessault and his significant other, Kayla; great grandchildren, Jack, Levi and Nora; companion, Denise Plouff; brothers, Yvan Marchessault and his wife, Helene, and Normand Marchessault and his wife Huguette; sister, Chantal O’Brien and her husband, Jamie; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family.
